matt lynchFeb 29, 2016Truly a "where has this movie been my entire life" moment watching this beautiful gem, which Eric Hynes and I discuss on the latest podcast. One thing I forgot to note: this film gives us basically zero exposition about the characters we're following and why until about…

“You get bad luck just from seeing a thing like that”
Justin LaLibertyMar 11, 2026I was wondering how this would translate to those who don’t remember the world before cell phones, GPS or Uber, but watched this with my 17yo and he loved it too. Plenty of great scenes/characters here, the bus driver, Phil Hartman, the taxi driver, but nothing beats the…
PottlekidAug 12, 202565 Crime caper, bumbling nocturnal comedy, very 80s even if it was ultimately released in 1990. I love how the film throws the viewer into its scenario with hardly any prep. Gives it an extra edge. Reminded me of Raising Arizona in a few ways. We talk about Quick Change…

Dave EdwardsJan 25, 2023Well, at least I can’t say anything bad about Geena Davis IRL… This is a case where I can share a personal story about the film. In this case, would you believe that as an 8 year old boy with my family in the summer of ’89 we went to visit New York City (where my aunt…
Blair RussellJan 27, 2022Okay so it's not a perfect story and not everything lands but damn there are some comedic nuggets in here and a few smart throw away lines that you could easily miss or force you to do some research on like "Great! We'll have to sail a raft to Fiji like Thor Heyerdahl! ".…

I think the director planed the first 30 minutes but it he rest was just random things no one cares. Like the scene when he was calling the police chief i think that was the planned ending because right after that the writing is a joke like it sucks so yea just watch the first 30
Incredible premise and near perfect execution. Cast is brilliant, particularly Davis and Murray. Paced to perfection, so short but it’s the perfect length. Murray’s clown is iconic. Wish there was a little bit more urgency and more intensity at times but I had an absolute blast

Fun trio for a comedic getaway. Some fun side quests with familiar faces. An easy, goofy watch.
A heist movie that catches you off guard from the beginning but everyone gets time too shine
