This is a weird movie that has a lot of anger through out it. However, I liked the messages in it about believing in yourself and putting yourself first in life so you aren’t walked on.

everyone needs to look out for julio torres, who is already making some truly great surrealist queer works with plenty of wholly unique themes and elements. as enjoyable as it is awkward and painful, but ultimately heartwarming and rewarding. stunning colors, and of course tilda

A unique and very funny film about the American dream and the immigrant experience. There’s surprising poignancy in the story with Tilda Swinton’s character and her tale of grief. The “surrealism” in the film isn’t weird for the sake of weird, it has an emotional aspect to it.

Very much enjoyed the critique of the financial and immigration systems that are created to keep people down. Especially immigration do this, pay this, but you can’t work so figure it out. Mixed with comedy and magic realism. It’s a must watch. Loved Alejandro.

very creative and artistic which made it very compelling and intriguing in a way + had a satisfying ending. tilda was great in this tbh (as always), nominations need to come her way for this. juilo’s mind is exquisite, his brain needs to be studied lmao.

One of the most surreal and fantastical films of the year. A film that shows how to stand up for yourself, how to keep dreaming and the hardships immigrants face in the US. Great acting and incredible direction with a brilliant script.

If you’re into surrealism watch this film. I loved the themes and some of the scenes were so relatable. It shows how US immigration sets you up to fail in its flawed system. It’s quirky and weird but there’s a lot to take from it. 7

7.5/10 Pretty wacky and creative. Tilda Swinton gives the best performance I’ve seen from her. It felt very original and refreshing compared to most of the movies we’ve been getting lately. I wish more were made like this

A creative Dramedy about struggle along with selling egg paintings, contemplating getting frozen, engineering inappropriate toys, dealing with an insufferable Karen, and growing a backbone to avoid deportation.
