Synopsis
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest tells the story of a free-spirited rogue who takes over the ward of a mental hospital by a combination of chutzpah and ingenuity. The film is based on Ken Kesey’s best-selling novel published in 1962. Using the madhouse to symbolize the individual against the system, the story gets its power from its unforgettable ensemble of characters and accretion of details that reveal what life is about inside a mental institution. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest swept the top five Oscars in 1976, the first film to do so since It Happened One Night in 1934.

Nurse Ratched is top 5 most evil villains in film, probably ahead of Thanos. I loved every second of this one and it kept me on my toes because of how unpredictable all the characters were. The ending is perfect; sad, yet hopeful, and the music in this film is amazing.
I don’t think I have ever felt so happy and so sad at the same time, especially by the end of the movie. That dang nurse is a character I will never look at the same way again. I remember thinking she was okay at the start, but now when I start the movie I already want her dead

One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest is still one of the most forward-thinking and emotionally complex film about oppression and people’s rights as it relates not just to mental illness but to society as a whole. It is a movie of numbing power with a raw humor.
Wow man, this movie is absolutely mind blowing. It's one of those ones that you gotta watch more than once to truly understand it. Flawless acting, an excellent cast, and most importantly brilliant script. Deserved the Oscars. Highly recommend.
