There is nothing 'real' about Sternberg's Morocco, rather this is an abstract space, a dreamworld. This dreamworld exists to invite us into a meditative space - in this film, meditations on love and faith. What we are seeing is pondering - the moments in-between moments…

Morocco

One of the earliest depictions of lesbianism in film. If you can get past the very orientalist 1930s depiction of morocco it’s a pretty good movie. Amy is so hot and it’s funny to watch her interact with the men in the film (she def doesn’t love them).
