David SimsNov 6, 2020Three people have given their lives over to Mammon. One seeks to atone. One seeks escape. One seeks to do its bidding. On this viewing, I kept rewinding and watching the scene of Tilda Swinton’s character collapsing to the ground when the jig was finally up. Having…
Jamelle BouieIf There Will Be Blood sports the best closing scene of 2007, then Michael Clayton certainly takes the gold for best film opener. Over images of the darkened offices of powerhouse Manhattan law firm Kenner Bach and Ledeen, a voice spins a manic monologue recounting his…

one of the few movies out there that has Michael Clayton in it
Colin BurgessJan 8, 2016"I am Shiva, the God of Death." Reckoning with being an arm of the slick, modern branding of evil, and the inherent pretense of corporate humanity. A movie structured with a constant sense of accumulation and making moves within a rotted system and that ultimately feels…

Perfect movie except for the lack of Syril Karn (glad Gilroy rectified this in his future work)

fran hoepfnerSep 7, 2014interesting how the billion-dollar corporate malfeasance class action lawsuit that cost hundreds of farmers' lives is essentially background, a catalyzer for the rescue of George Clooney's soul. this is a very writerly, very self-consciously classy movie, which isn't…

Working on a puzzle for 3/4 of the movie where you have no idea what the end result will look like and then you find the last 15 pieces in the most satisfying way. You feel like a BAMF puzzle builder.
A slow burn that doesn’t get interesting until mid way through. The ending is cathartic but overall the movie is just kind of boring. I get behind the whole evil bad corporation does bad thing but the movie doesn’t explore the effects it has on its victim much so u dont see it
a bit convoluted and hard to follow in the beginning, but it wraps up beautifully. i despise movies that start somewhere near the end then give us a flashback to the beginning. it's cheap and stupid. was thinking this was another case of that, but it's done inoffensively here

Really liked it! I don’t understand the need to start near the end of the movie and then do the whole movie as a flashback, but it’s fine. I also kept getting confused with who was with what association 🤦🏼♂️ but I eventually figured it out
Brilliant stuff here with Clooney in top form as well as a stellar supporting cast. This is brilliantly written with a great plot. This is a smart movie with great characters that has great twists. A really riveting thriller that has it all

A highly well written and directed thriller starring George Clooney in the leading role. With a bit of a convoluted plot so you had to pay attention to the story of what is going on.
Michael Clayton serves as a masterclass in moral ambiguity, with George Clooney delivering a powerhouse performance as a legal fixer entangled in a web of corporate deceit.
