Didn't get to see this live back in 2017 but saw it the first time on TV on PBS Great Performances/Live from the Met. It mesmerized then and it continued to mesmerize still. The Met hit the jackpot with this production and cast -- fantastic all-around. The 2 leads -- exceptional. They became the characters. Can whole-heartedly recommend to even non-opera viewers -- it's that good that it transcends genres.
