Another gem from Adam Simon and his iconic style of stop motion animation. definitely one for the adults only -- this bittersweet tale has a lot of puppet nudity and guinea pix sex. Yes, wacky I suppose, but also poignant.
loved the animation ! good story 🐌
No matter its hopeful closing notes, it’s a downer of epic proportions, its action encased in a shroud of loss, loneliness, and depression that’s at once bracing and taxing.
Mr. Elliot’s script is so rich and gently funny that he could easily have made an excellent live-action feature from it. As it is, though, the animation makes it even more lovable.
There’s an ingenuousness and innocence to Memoir of a Snail, a family-entertainment approachability that belies a strange intensity.
