Atom User Reviews for LUZIA - Cirque du Soleil in Cinema
Better than nothing if you can't see a live show but would have been just as happy watching it at home on my TV. Feel like you miss too much because you are only seeing what the camera wants you to see.
If you cannot see the life show of Cirque du Soleil (as I’ve seen at least 4 times), then this is heaven!!!
We walked out 10 mins into the movie. They should just stick to live shows. The quality and sound was horrendous.
OVERALL-FAIR. LIVE SHOWS MUCH BETTER. RESOLUTION ON PROJECTION SCREEN NOT NEARLY AS GOOD AS4K TV
Breathtaking!!! I can't say enough just love it!
The only way it could have been better would have been to have seen it live. A great way to experience the Cirque du Soleil if you can't get to a live performance.
This was a wonderful presentation. Continue the good work on these.
Undeniably impressive but the other 2 & 3 star reviews Hit the nail on the head.
Benefit over live show is seeing profiles of some performers "off camera". Limitation of film is missing out on anything not in camera lens. I loved the music, as always.
Okay as a movie. Since I have gone to the live shows.. this is no comparison. But if one can not go to a live show this is a fantastic alternative
First time seeing a non-live show -- not very exciting (have seen about 10 different ones over the years, some multiple times, and fully expected a lesser experience for non-lives). Sound was terrible - sheesh, that's the main thing I was hoping for. Likely only one speaker behind the screen was active in the theater equipped with the latest Dolby Atmos. Tiny screen with low resolution, comparing to the movies adjacent. The content and performers are 5-stars as usual, but the environment is 3-stars ... at best. Bad first impression :-((
Not as good as live, but definitely worth seeing! Acts were amazing! I have to admit that I liked the first movie I saw better. I don't think this one was advertized as much and the auditorium we saw it in was practically empty!
Was a great live show and the movie was awesome to!
Thoroughly enjoyed the movie version. Saw the show live previously without knowing anything about it, and was a little disappointed. Having found out more about the intent of the show and about the performers I found I enjoyed the video performance much more, especially some of the close-up shots that revealed details I had missed in the live performance. Have to agree, though, the video quality in the movie theater suffered compared to 4K TV picture.
Incredible content, mediocre production quality.
The show was great but the sound horrible.
Breath taking
I've seen several Cirque du Soleil shows. This one was good but not one of the best. The camera angles didn't allow you to see everything that was going on - they were too focused on one activity which in my opinion detracts from the magic of CdS. But, it was still an entertaining and fun show!
For being on the big screen I enjoyed it. You did get to see things from a different perspective than you would sitting in 1 place at a live show. I would probably see another theater version as the price is much better than live, but can't wait until next month when Cirque returns to Portland, bought tickets when first came available.
The movie did do the live show justice. Very poor quality video and audio, colors were washed out, camera angles a little frustrating. The story and cast were amazing, but if this was your first experience seeing Cirque you might not be inspired to see them live, that is the real tragedy of it all.
always love seeing Cirque in person and was a little concerned that seeing it on the screen would be too confusing, but this was amazing. great show, great performers. meeting some of them 'in person' as they were interviewed before the show was really fun.
Unbelievable how flexible & the strength they have , this is my second circus de Soleil, I will see many more , excellent show
Seeing Cirque's shows live is a mind blowing experience. Seeing the movie version expands and reinforces that experience. We've seen all the "under-the-grand chapeau" performances that have played in Chicago -- and plan to see all the big screen events as well.
incredible venue as well
1 hour into the show the picture cut out and then about a minute later the sound went. Took about 10 minute for the show to get back on track. Otherwise, the show was great.
Loved it second such movie I watched. Better advertising wouldprob Loved it. Second such movie i saw. Better Advertising would probably attract more people
Great clean entertainment--really enjoyed the show (although live is better).
Unbelievable feats of acrobatics and talent.
The show was great , but the cinematography wasn’t. When they zoomed in on an acrobat, you missed a ton of stuff. They didn’t show the very beginning when the ‘clown’ comes down from the ceiling as if he was a skydiver.
Felt like I was there - great photography, fast paced editing, great artists
