Synopsis
A bullet-riddled and blood-splattered homage to 1970s Spaghetti Westerns and Italian crime films, Let The Corpses Tan comes from Belgian filmmakers Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani (Amer). An eccentric gang of thieves hides out in a crumbling village on the Mediterranean with their latest bounty (a BUNCH of gold). It’s the perfect getaway - until unexpected visitors, including two cops who ride up on motorcycles to investigate, compromise their hideout. What follows is a stylish, saturated, and sundrenched tale of whirling violence and shifting allegiances as an all-day, all-night firefight commences.

Let the Corpses Tan — or, to use its even better French title, “Laissez Bronzer Les Cadavres” — is a feverish, obsessive act of cinematic rehabilitation, a shoot-’em-up conceived in tribute to a peculiar strain of blood-spattered B-movies from the 1960s and ’70s.
A formalist experiment that soon devolves into a mannerist indulgence.
