at some points in this movie i would think "oh, it's not actually that bad" and then they would start singing again
jeabaNov 22, 2023My favourite part was when a bunch of Leo’s abruptly phase in on every character’s body during a serious moment. Comedy gold
Mitchell TansellNov 22, 2023Jump scare musical movie, but isn’t completely awful because it’s somewhat funny? Idk. Maybe I’m delirious. But hey, get that bag Adam Sandler.

FramesofnickNov 19, 2023This movie literally opens with singing, yet somehow every single song is still a jump scare.

We just started it while my partner and I were eating, but we could not turn it off because it was so interesting. Sometimes, out of nowhere, they just started singing. But I loved that the lyrics were always appropiate and fit in the context, took the plot further.
My 100th watched film/show! This is a great family movie. A couple “adult jokes” that flew over the kids heads, thankfully. A super cute film though, and Adam Sandler played Leo PERFECTLY. A few too many songs for my liking, but nothing too bad. I’d watch again! 9/10

I absolutely loved the movie me and my girlfriend this is one of those children’s movies that has jokes for adults that kids won’t understand.

Leo can sometimes have a jolt of energy from its slapstick sequences or its bright color palette, in which Leo the lizard flies through the air, floats on a bubble, or meets other talking animals. But it's all defined by its assembly line animation, in which the spell of watching life-like characters and settings can be easily broken by looking at the backgrounds of shots for just a few seconds.
From references to Lin-Manuel Miranda (Moana) to songs that don’t rhyme and even metalinguistic performances – the one with the clocks is especially good because it completely underscores a particular character’s personality – Leo shows a surprising level of maturity that we’ve only come to expect from Pixar and Studio Ghibli films.
Brightly animated and with moments of surprising insight, there’s a warm likability to Leo that radiates, for those still in the classroom and those who left it long ago.
