Atom User Reviews for Kinky Boots the Musical
Worst audio if any production I have ever heard. You couldn't hear any of the dialogue in the whole movie. Was it this theatre only? Totally disappointing.
Great show but volume way too low
Amazing show. I would love to see more live broadway productions
Missed it on broadway so I am happy for this opportunity.
YAS QWEEN! YAS!
NYC live production was better. Why all the close ups? That is not what broadway is about? The cheesy audience shots clapping were unnecessary and removed story focus. I feel those that didn’t see it live were not given a true shot at loving it, and it should be loved!
Thank you for allowing us to see an incredible show. At home.
Love the music and dancing
Disappointing start as Livonia AMC 20 in Michigan didn’t start projecting it until 20 minutes into simulcast. Audience members had to tell management it had not been started. Once started, the audio was minimal and could not be heard in theater. We had to yell to turn it up the volume. Great show but very disappointing execution at this theater!
I love this show. Heartwarming. Uplifting. I've seen it live and love that more, but this was still smile-inducing. Sound was soft in the theatre though :(
Loved the piece but cut the audience shots. I want to see the performers, not the audience. The volume in the theatre was too low. The lights should have come up during intermission. The theatre should clean the floors - shoes stick to them.
FANTASTIC filming of this amazing musical! Red Rock Regal Cinemas in Las Vegas did a wonderful job bringing it to us! I WANT MORE SHOWINGS so I can see it again!!!
Only sad about the sound. It was muffled and that was disappointing, otherwise it was great to see since it had closed just a week before I was in NYC this spring.
Good show filmed well but sound in theatre was way too low. Should have raised house lights at interval. But still very enjoyable.
Sound was so faint that you could not hear the actors speaking. Musical numbers were louder.
LOVED IT! PLEASE FATHOM, CONTINUE WITH THESE SHOWS! AUDIO WAS NOT GREAT IN THE BEGINNING THOUGH...
I thought the American Broadway version was better. English accents hard to understand.
Amazing talent, a great story, a great production. I can't explain how happy I was that I made time to see this.
Great show! Great voices! We loved it!
Please put it in the theater again!!! I would love to see it again.
Saw the musical on Broadway. Enjoyed having a chance to see such an uplifting, feel good musical again as a movie. Also delighted in the opportunity seeing a London version too.
London cast was great. Audio and videography were balanced and produced well. Great opportunity for my family to see shows they wouldn’t be able to travel to NYC or London to enjoy.
Fabulous performances. Fun show.
Love the musical. Could NOT hear the singing, sound was horrible. Disappointed that it was not the original show.
Unforgettable performances. Sound volume in my theater was a little low, but not distractingly so. Would love to see it again.
Great show! We love having the ability to see Broadway shows on the big screen!
Just AMAZING!! Must see!
Play/Movie was great, theater sucked. No sound when the film started, volume was low thought and even got worse halfway through. Multiple complaints but no action or response from staff.
I would give it 5 but the theater’s sound system was awful. The show was fantastic!
OMG it was FABULOUS!!!! Please do this with other Broadway shoes!
The show was excellent. The actual theatre was another issue entirely. It was hot in the theatre, the sounds was awful until about 25 minutes in and the whole show was 20 minutes late getting started.
It was good especially the ending but I felt more connected to the play. The performance from Lola was very moving. A bunch of kids interfered with the movie at times so many in the audience were miffed.
Fabulous production!
Fantastic!
Great way to see this production for the first time. Now I want to see the live production! My only complaint is the audio was low & the chatty old ladies next to me were loud.
It sounds from the other reviews that the volume of the sung solos was a problem in the recording and not the theater, since it was a problem today in our theater in Sandy Utah as well. Filming was great, London cast was superb. Only the sound quality was an issue.
It was a fabulous show despite the sound issues at the theatre we saw it at. First 5 minutes had no sound and the house lights were still on, but after they fixed that it was so good. My daughter loved it.
Awesome! I enjoyed every minute of it. Amazing talented cast loved it!!
Horrible audio. It had no musical presence to the audio track. We would never see another theater production at the Regal in Gainesville. The musical performances we overshadowed by the lack of good audio. Why show the audience clapping. Strange!! If the musical comes to DC will definitely see it!
The musical is amazing, it's a great story with lots of inspirational messages. The music is excellent and gets you moving. The theater itself was not good, it was Garden State Theater Loews in Paramus NJ. The movie started 25 minutes late with no previews, then when it finally came on the sound was so low you could barely hear it for the first 15-20 minutes.
So grateful to see a good original Broadway play without paying 5 and $700
As everyone else has mentioned, sound was terrible. I wasn’t a fan of some of the singers, but the message was the best part. The movie was slow when I saw it, so tamping that up took some guts. I recommend it even with the flaws.
Since we didn't see it on Broadway, this was a great option. Loved having the close-ups that we couldn't have gotten in person.
a perfect five in spite of terrible sound.
So glad we finally saw "Kinky Boots" but so wish we had seen it live. This production was terrific though.
Loved this performance. Had always wanted to see it on Broadway, but it never happened...this is the next best thing. Loved the character Lola.
Enjoyed the show. Sound volume was a little low, no surround sound!!
Loved the original movie and missed it on broadway. This was a perfect fix!
Saw the play...glad we saw the filmed performance too!
Saw it on Broadway and it was fun to see how it was fine in this production. The actor playing Lola was as enjoyable as boy Porter. Fathom provides a wonderful vehicle for those who don't have access to Broadway musicals to enjoy!
