I’ve watched all Planet of the Apes movies. My favorite was the 1968 original. This “Kingdom of the planet of the apes” is just TRASH. Poor flat actors, terrible plot. Characters introduced and there was no basis for them. Very slow to build any momentum. It made humans out to be dumb or evil and apes to be merciful and superior. It was just more “ posturing” than entertainment. I just wanted to watch a movie and be entertained. It was such a LETDOWN.
it was a wild ride tbh 😭 didn’t rly reference the old movies (only talked abt my pookie caesar) so it felt like its OWN movie yk? i loved it tho <3
Metacritic
The film may end on a bleak note, but there's some levity mixed into the very batter.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes explores the past while creating a new future, starting this fresh angle on the series to a rocky, but promising start.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is a fun enough distraction.
