AFF 2024 - FILM #26 I know how hard it is to make a film and I know that nobody sets out to make a bad one, but to me this was just emblematic of so many things wrong with Australian cinema and nothing about it worked for me on any level.

Ok I loved the cinematography here the beautiful Australian scenery makes for a phenomenal setting, and it’s hard not to get a good shot when those beaches and bushlands are your backdrop. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives start and finish. I know other people…

I’m in genuine shock of how embarrassingly bad watching this was. It was so bad that the packed theatre I was in, filled with the film’s target audience (white boomers), expressed their annoyance and irritation after it ended. Every writing choice felt contrived at best…
