- Tom Holland was originally cast as Seaplane McDonough, but had to drop out of the film due to scheduling conflicts with Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). So Nick Jonas was cast in his place.
- In the game, Alex does not make a reference to the Will Smith song "Gettin Jiggy Wit It" (which wasn't released until 1997, the year after he disappeared) he merely uses the word "jiggy" which was in popular vernacular for a large part of the 90s.
- [Martha has become Ruby Roundhouse and an insect tried to bite her on her exposed stomach]
- Ruby Roundhouse: Why am I wearing this outfit in a jungle? Tiny, little shorts and a leather halter top. I mean, what is this?

This movie surprised me all over. I was hesitant to see it loving the original so much, but they really made this movie it's own thing and it is funny as hell! I like the throw backs to the original and I love their take on the inner world of Jumanji.
This is so much better than the previews!
Kasdan isn’t known for pulling off big budget action properties. He does his best here to create a kinetic pace, but the execution is always flat and dull.
It’s an entertaining, engaging, colourful picture in its own right with decently-handled action-adventure set-pieces and sly comedy, detouring from the expected thrills and spills into body-hopping comedy drama.
The film's main appeal is in watching familiar actors pretend to be ordinary kids grappling with their new selves.
