It's good, but there's an inescapable "woe is me" quality that never fully goes away even during Clooney's best scenes. It quickly becomes evident that the emotional core lies with Sandler's character, to the point where I had to question why the story wasn't about him. As…
James (Schaffrillas)Dec 5, 2025Ironic that netflix dropped a movie about the glory of movies and going to theatres the day they announced they could potentially ruin that.

Deeply, deeply sad movie about the sort of person you don’t want to shed tears for, so it works that it plays like A Christmas Carol for a solipsistic absent father and friend - “who will be at my tribute?” becomes “who will be at my funeral?” becomes a devastating reminder…

KarstenNov 26, 2025the greatest tragedy there is would be choosing work over family, only to wake up one day and attend a career tribute celebrating your decades’ worth of filmography but have no one to watch it with.

One of the best George Clooney performances. This, Michael Clayton, and Oceans 11. My god Adam Sandler was incredible!
Mediocre Oscar bait, but I didn't hate it. I think what I loved most about this was the biopic feel it had, centring on Clooney. A successful, handsome movie star, played by a successful, handsome movie star, but it's the relatability that really makes it believable. Aside from being privileged and…

I’m sure most people won’t love it, but I enjoyed it. Would’ve loved more Billy crudup though
I give a movie 15 minutes to catch my attention, then I turn it off. Bye bye
There are parts of this film that I really enjoyed. Namely, the creativity in the visual storytelling, Laura Dern, and a couple of standout scenes. However, I unfortunately found the overall story to be quite boring until the last 30 minutes or so, at which point I was too disinterested to really…

It’s beautifully shot, staged like a play going through time and space elegantly. The final line delivery was done perfectly. I’m not surprised people didn’t like it and sees it as a self pitying piece. The film even jokes about it when they realized they’re giving tribute awards to two white men…
wow 23/01/26 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "It's a hell of a responsibility to be yourself. It's much easier to be somebody else, or nobody at all" que hermosa la iluminacion x dios, la calidez me parece espectacular la escena del tren en donde el empieza a observar a las personas tal vez en esa busque
A depressing film about a Hollywood narcissist. There’s nothing exciting, moving or memorable. Cannot believe this film expects me to sympathize with wealthy, powerful men & their problems.Adam Sandler is the only real character that was worth watching as an actor. Save your time.
