Synopsis

Fathom Events and GKIDS are partnering to bring Hayao Miyazaki’s Howl’s Moving Castle to select cinemas nationwide for a special three-day event on November 26, 27 & 29 as part of Studio Ghibli Fest 2017. From the legendary director comes the story of Sophie, an average teenage girl working in a hat shop, who finds her life thrown into turmoil when she is literally swept off her feet by a handsome but mysterious wizard named Howl. As the true power of Howl’s wizardry is revealed, our young grey heroine finds herself fighting to protect them both from a dangerous war of sorcery that threatens their world. Howl’s Moving Castle was the second Studio Ghibli film to be nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards. Dubbed in English on November 26 and 29 and subtitled on November 27, this special two-day event will also include an exclusive edition of the GKIDS MINIFEST, an ongoing festival of award-winning short animated films from around the world!

Though it's difficult to work out what's going on, it's never boring.

The perfect e-ticket for a flight of fancy into a world far more gorgeous than our own. The film doesn't halve itself to appeal to two generations. At its best, it turns all moviegoers into innocent kids, slack-jawed with wonder.

The tireless volley of ideas and inventions make this a delight that should connect with kids and adults in both dubbed and original-language versions.
