What is it with Del Toro and sexualising fish people
adamboltMar 21, 2014it's cute but lord is it WAY too long. and the boring white guy? why is he in it at all? ron pearlman does such a good job connecting us to hellboy, there's no need for anything else
David SimsMar 16, 2023Hellboy Retrospective: Hellboy (2004) Theatrical Cut I’ve been meaning to rewatch these films. I always enjoyed the Hellboy movies as a kid. I especially thought the action scene in the subway was cool. In this film, Guillermo Del Toro blends science fiction, adventure,…

Madison 🎭Oct 27, 2015a few weeks ago i wrote about how christopher nolan wasted the joker. imagine what guillermo del toro could have done with her. just look at how much this film believes in hellboy: he was assigned a name at birth, one which the film's villains refer to as his true name.…

Not the best movie ever, but I think it’s a very faithful Hellboy adaptation, and I wish the other movies were on HBOMax too.
junto com Constantine e demolidor, o clássico do filme gritty meio católico baseado em revistinha dessa época. bom demais
GOD I LOVE HELLBOY SO MUCH one chance.. i would treat him right i also love abe, he’s so sweet and funny :) this movie was so fun, i loved hellboy’s one liners and all his scenes had some of *that kind* of 2000s cgi and the pacing wasn’t perfect but everything was good otherwise

This was cool. It was nice coming back to this after reading the comics, they did a great job on accuracy and believability. The humor and action both hit imo, and the story was fun. Lastly the casting was great, Ron Pearlman was perfectly charismatic
I will not steer you the wrong way I promise, when I tell you this is one of the best movies ever it is! It’s the perfect combination comedy and action! Not too much and not to little! I grew up watching this . Will never get tired of it.

Hellboy (2004) - 7.5/10 ⭐️ The original Hellboy film, directed by Guillermo del Toro, is a cult classic. Ron Perlman shines as the titular character, bringing the perfect blend of humor and action. The story is engaging, and the visuals hold up surprisingly well even today. A solid start to the…
ron pearlman will always be the perfect casting for hell boy. you can tell guillermo del toro got his inspiration for the shape of water from the merman guy. the british fish dude is my favorite character, when i watched this on the syfy network as a kid i thought he was adorable
Ron Perlman is always going to be Hellboy. THE Hellboy. I’ve seen the newer films and they just don’t quite feel right. These original films have the better cast in my opinion, but lack the CGI and money. The newer films have the extra money, but the cast just isn’t on point.

Metacritic
Standard-issue superhero movie -- except that writer-director Guillermo del Toro, taking his cue from Hellboy comic book creator Mike Mignola, brings a wicked sense of humor to this particular monster mash.
Has more than enough across-the-board appeal to attract mainstream auds unfamiliar with source material.
Directed by Guillermo del Toro with a colorfully kinetic visual imagination that seldom lets up.
