Fleeing a terrible accident, a Congolese man finds himself at a revolutionary camp where he is told that he has a great destiny. Leaving the camp, he goes to another town where he joins a religion and becomes a missionary. But when he finds himself back in the very place he tried to leave, he not only has to face his fears and his shame, but also the magnificent possibilities.
