There's a scene where the board of directors of a company decides the workers will get higher wages and benefits. This scene has been added by the creators of the movie to remind us that this is, indeed, a work of fiction.
alexgiuOct 14, 2025perfect casting for keanu because we know he’s an angel, truly heaven sent <3
kezOct 25, 2025Saw this and Waiting for Godot in the same week and I really miss doing a Keanu Reeves podcast because my dude is doing such cool new things in both of these and I want to talk about them

I love how the second half of this movie is just essentially a Seth Rogan and Keanu Reeves rom com, this is exactly what the world needs now

A solid enough comedy about how money isn’t everything in life. Very millennial core humor a lot of times but a decent amount of it worked and was charming. I sure hope the write/director/lead actor didn’t perform at the Riyadh comedy festival for an insane amount of…
JoelOct 7, 2025For me, this was a well-intentioned effort to reach out to working-class people, but sadly, this film is weighed down by the fact that its creator holds a position of power and privilege, highlighting just how out of touch he is with everyday people. I can mock the fact…

You just gotta see it. I was planning on offing myself today but I don’t think I will now.
What a waste
Metacritic
Unfortunately, the sharp point of view and creative risk-taking present in Ansari’s acclaimed series Master Of None (co-created with Alan Yang) are nowhere to be seen in this pedestrian comedy full of convoluted plot points.
Ansari struggles as a writer when he tries to make the movie into a commentary on the widening economic rift of the 2020s, and he truly rushes the ending in a way that feels a bit unearned, but there’s so much to like about the four stars of this movie that it’s a really tough flick to hate.
Thanks to the engaging ensemble and the breezily improvised feel to many of its funnier line readings, Good Fortune coasts along agreeably on all those good intentions.
