I hope Whoopi Goldberg’s back is okay after she carried this entire movie.
CorbinJun 7, 2019I'd come back from the dead for short-haired Demi Moore too.

It’s a classic! Romance not your thing? No worries, because this one crosses a lot of genres. Cut an onion towards the end just in case you need to cover your tracks. Swayze and Demi at their peak!
If you haven’t seen this movie, don’t admit it in public. Required viewing for anyone who loves pop culture phenomena, great soundtrack music, Demi Moore, and Patrick Swayze.

. Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore are perfect for each other in this movie. And Whoopi’s Goldberg is a surprise that I loved. Go watch .
Pretty fun… but ghost floor physics really needs to be explained… he is phasing through walls and people and doors but he doesn’t phase through the floor?? How does that even work? I couldn’t stop thinking about it, why didn’t Patrick Swayze fall through the floor? Whoopi carried

It is a romantic/thriller. The story itself ain’t too bad. The acting is great from Patrick, Demi, Tony, and Whoopi. It’s a tragic love story of loss, grief, heartache, revenge, and mystery. I thought at times when Patrick’s character (Sam) was “ghosting,” he was still real.
This movie was ahead of its time. The only thing I dislike about it is how the start of the movie does not set the tone. For the rest of the movie I don’t get over how the main character is randomly murdered out of nowhere. Apart from that, this movie has heart and suspense.

GET OFF MY TRAIN!!!
Metacritic
In all his athletic scenes, leaping through doors, leaping between uptown and downtown trains, leaping on an assortment of villains, Swayze is just fine. It's the movie's big cosmic questions that throw him; for these he's reduced to a look of total stupefaction--not the movie's finest moments. [13 July 1990, Calendar, p.F-1]
A wonderful movie, sincere and inspired, with four terrific performances and a story that doesn't let up. The picture has the gentle, nourishing quality of a fairy tale that you want to believe, and the unsoftened impact of gut-level entertainment. [13 July 1990, Daily Datebook, p.E1]
A bad movie that a lot of people will like... Though director Jerry Zucker wants his necrophiliac romance to be sensitive, he pumps up its feelings fortissimo so the dimmest viewer will get the point. [16 July 1990, p.86]
