The least fun group of teens so far in the series (except for Reggie, Reggie rules)
Patrick WillemsOct 16, 2015On the basis of this film, I believe this mental hospital and its staff should be reviewed by the state and considered for defunding.
Matt SingerMar 27, 2017Not so much A New Beginning as a Detour Into Downer Heartland Reaganomic Dispossession. The kids are not alright. The summer camp sours and crumbles into an open-air asylum filled with dead livestock, edged weapons and sociopathic overspill. Cocaine and Bianca dusting a…

Kills n sleaze galore. I love when ‘jason’ plows through the door like the kool aid man and that this has both rednecks and greasers in it lmao.
Ian WestOct 14, 2023Was kinda disappointed I didn’t get to watch one of these on Friday the 13th so figured I’d watch one the next day.🔪🩸Of course, I had to pick the one for dirtbags.😜 I think this one is over-hated because it doesn’t have Jason in it. But the villain basically is Jason so…

58 I admire this one well-enough, although it's not without its issues. A New Beginning had the problem of following The Final Chapter, a gorgeous, brutalizing slasher pinnacle, and attempting to tread its own path away from Jason as a literal zombie figure and instead…
SilentDawnOct 27, 2020The 4-star review goes to the insane, hilarious and oddly Informative commentary track by director Danny Steinmann and two of the cast. If his whole sthick on not knowing anything about the previous films and his shock and awe delivery watching back his own SleazeCore…
Joe LynchJun 13, 2025Not sure what is happening to my brain but the one of these directed by a hardcore porn director who brings all the bizarre eccentricity and unabashed gratuitousness of that world with him is honestly kind of growing on me. Seeing in a drunken packed house on an accidental…

I actually really loved this one! I liked the setting and story, and most of the characters were actually interesting with more depth than just being horny teens. Maybe cuz they were mentally ill, but still lol. Pam was sooo cunty and older Tommy was sexy asf. Plus, BLACK PEOPLE🔥

Im sorry but an absolutely terrible movie, theres way too much running through the woods and the way almost every single actually GOOD characters got murdered completely wrecks the feel of the Friday the 13th movies, just not the best watch after a good tetralogy, disappointing!!

To be positive, I really liked that this film tried to do something different, the problem was it didn’t land its new concepts. Tommy’s character arc, the pseudo halfway house, the side characters, and the new killer all could’ve been interesting additions but were underdeveloped
Horror fans know why this ranks towards the bottom of the barrel. Spoiler: the killer isn’t Jason. The Tommy Jarvis storyline continues but the anger over the ending overshadows everything else. That being said, one of the best kills in the franchise around the 20min mark.
I mean besides that ending it was a good movie, idk wtf that ending was but I enjoyed everything else. I like the plot but obviously they didn’t have the money to really go through with it. But I think it is a really interesting plot. Jason at the psych ward. So it’s an 7/10
