  • (at around 26 mins) When everyone is looking for the snake, first Alice lifts up the sheet, then in the next shot, Marcie lifts up the sheet and Alice is behind her.
  • The lightning on Marcie and Jack is merely a yellow light being flashed at their faces; real lightning has a bluish tint.
  • (at around 52 mins) When Steve gets picked up by the officer, the officer turns on the police lights to show where the car is. In long shots the lights are on but when we see the close up of Steve talking to the officer the lights are off. And then back on again but the officer turns them off as they drive away.
  • (at around 2 mins) When Claudette and the counselors are singing in the beginning, the music continues after she stops strumming the guitar strings.
  • (at around 1h 20 mins) When Alice runs into the boathouse to get the gun, there are several pieces of wood leaning on the right side of the boathouse. As Alice opens the door and enters, one piece falls diagonally, but in subsequent shots it is back in its original position.
  • In the French translation of the movie, Mrs. Voorhees calls her son Jackie, even though the character is named Jason in the English original version. The translation was corrected in Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981).
  • Brenda uses the communal bathrooms rather than the sink in the room because of facilities available there other than a sink.
  • (at around 30 mins) Ned is eating a hamburger when he runs to Alice's aid, but the hamburgers aren't cooked until the next scene.

  • (at around 8 mins) When Annie walks into the coffee shop the waitress is leaning on the counter near the busboy. In the next shot, where Annie ask "How far is it to Camp Crystal Lake.", the waitress is already in the process of turning down the radio. The shots are too sudden for her to already be there.

Spoilers

  • Obvious dummy during the climactic decapitation. Alice swings the machete at the left side of Mrs. Voorhees' neck, yet the neck opens up on the right side.
  • (at around 1h 21 mins) When Mrs. Voorhees throws Alice onto a table, you can see a mattress under it catching her fall.
  • (at around 1h 28 mins) At the end when Alice cuts off Mrs. Voorhees's head you can see two hands clutching and making fists in the air which is not possible as the brain is disconnected so as to make the hands perform a voluntary function. An involuntary action would have been a jerky movement.
  • (at around 42 mins) Just before Jack's death, he is smoking and his arms are in front of him. When it cuts to the side shot of him being stabbed, his arms are stiffly at his sides.
  • (at around 1h 30 mins) In the last scene, after the nurse gives Alice a shot, she briefly looks directly into the camera.
  • The date in the beginning says June. In the end, if you look at the trees, and the reflection in the pond before Jason grabs Alice, it appears to be Autumn.
  • When Alice runs into one of the houses before Pamela chases her in there, she shuts the blind on the right window next to the door. When she gets chased out of the house, you see the blinds open again.
  • (at around 1h 23 mins) When Alice goes back to the cabin and stares at Brenda's body, it's simply a flipped version of the same shot shown before (at around 1h 14 mins): Brenda's head is now tilting in the opposite direction, and her wounds have switched sides.
  • When Alice screams and swings the machete at Mrs. Voorhees, you can tell that she is not really holding the machete.
  • (at around 1h 28 mins) The hands that reach up and grasp in front of Mrs. Voorhees's neck stump are a pair of man's hands, as evidenced by the hair at the wrists. (In fact, these hands belonged to special FX assistant Taso N. Stavrakis).
  • (at around 1h 26 mins) Mrs. Voorhees' arm positions change when she is lying on the ground after being hit by Alice's frying pan.
  • (at around 1h 27 mins) When Alice reaches the canoe, it is relatively dry inside. There was a major downpour less than an hour earlier, which should have partially flooded the canoe.
  • (at around 1h 28 mins) When the head of Mrs. Voorhees is severed you can clearly see the toothpicks that were holding the fake head to the false body sticking out of the neck stump.
  • (at around 41 mins) When Jack and Marcie have finished making love, there are blood spatters along the right edge of the pillow, which are presumably from Ned in the upper bunk. But when Jack is killed with the arrow up through the neck and throat, the blood spatters are gone.
  • (at around 1h 11 mins) When Alice runs back into the cabin after discovering Bill's corpse, she starts piling things in front of the door even though it opens outwards.
  • (at around 1h 11 mins) In the Uncut Version, when Alice discovers Bill hanging on a door, his mouth and right eye can be seen twitching, close-up (the actor, Harry Crosby, was wincing in pain from incorrectly-applied gore makeup on his left eye).
  • (at around 1h 25 mins) When Mrs. Voorhees breaks into the pantry where Alice is hiding, Alice ducks her machete swing, then uses a cast iron skillet to block the blade. However, the position of the skillet changes just before she knocks Mrs. Voorhees out with it. At first Alice blocks the machete to her left, but in the very next shot she takes a swing at Mrs. Voorhees head and the skillet is now on her right.
  • At the end, right before Jason leaps out of the water at Alice, you can see what appears to be a breathing tube pop out above the back of the boat before you see Jason's head.
  • (at around 1h 14 mins) Brenda's nightgown is yellow, but when her stunt double (Tom Savini) falls through the window, it's white. In the close-ups afterwards, it's yellow again.
  • (at around 1h 14 mins) In the close-up of Brenda's corpse on the floor (the one used twice, as noted in an above goof), her jaw twitches slightly.
  • (at around 1h 28 mins) When Alice beheads Pamela, we see the camera focused on Pamela's neck and head. The machete comes from the right of the screen, (Pamela's left) and as it first strikes, you can clearly see that the right side of her neck is already split apart.
  • (at around 42 mins) Obvious fake neck when Jack is killed; it is much lighter than his face and body.
  • (at around 43 mins) The killer's hand comes out from under the bed and grabs Jack across the forehead. The camera angle changes twice, and in the last angle, the hand has changed positions like the killer is now standing over Jack.
  • (at around 1h 28 mins) Alice knocks the machete out of Mrs. Voorhees' hand, and we see it land. But when Alice runs and picks the machete up, it is in an entirely different place.
