JayAug 8, 2021Missed this in the theaters so watched it for the first time in 2D shorty after the film's release and loved it. Well, finally was able to watch it in 3D and I love it even more!

Most bad-ass action film I've seen since...well...The Raid. Similarities will be drawn between the two films for sure, but they remain their own entities in spite of the similar concepts. Where The Raid is more or less an excuse to have fight scene after fight scene (not…
Tentin Quarantino ☭Jan 21, 2023Some of the best mouth acting I’ve ever seen.
David ChenSep 21, 2012had me at bullet through a guy's face in super slo-mo 3D. made my lizard brain very happy. you can shove a ROBOCOP remake right up your ass.

I'll just put this out there. When is a comic book adaptation successful? Two things. It needs to capture the essence of the hero(s) and it needs to emulate the feel, tone and style of the comic. This is one of the best comic book adaptations ever made. One of…
DirkHDec 24, 2014One of the most colorful and distinctly edited films I've seen in a while; strange and jarring, but in a good way; sporadically shocking; a very unique form of sci-fi social commentary; great costume design; relatively complex characters; the visuals are consistently…
Eli HayesApr 8, 2021Dredd walks away from 150 dead civilians and drug dealers, multiple bodies mutilated, tortured, and thrown off 80-story balconies, massive property damage, psychic sexual abuse, blown-off hands, gory eye-gouges, and four cop executions. Chief Judge: "So, what happened…

I have not read many Judge Dredd comics, but the movie seemed like a great introduction for anyone interested in starting to read the comics. At the same time it is also a fun action packed movie, and can be enjoyed just as much without any background knowledge.
Criminally underrated movie, the writers did a great job and Karl Urban did an amazing job portraying judge Dredd. The execution between the 1995 version (staring Sylvester Stallone) and this one is clear as day. This version is WAYYY better.

Horrible acting. Horrible graphics. Horrible writing. Horrible plot. Still pretty entertaining. Would highly recommend.
Unrelentingly violent dystopian action film with stellar world-building and a fantastic performance by Urban. The movie could have been perfect with a better ending as it feels rushed to tie things up neatly. Did it deserve a sequel? Hell yes. Such a pity it never continued.

the stylization was cool and i think Ma-Ma was a really well-acted antagonist! i just wasn’t super into the plot and thought it felt a little dated. didn’t feel engaging and i was not super interested in what happened, which isn’t usual because i love an action movie 😕
now hear me out. this was not a perfect movie by a long shot, but this was one of the best comic book movies i’ve ever seen. everything done, every action, every line, every story piece was done like a comic, which a lot of superhero movies need to learn how to do.

Dredd gets it right! Made before “The Raid”! Karl Urban delivers the action! Sad there’s no sequel!
