Moviegoers are saying
Michel Franco's latest offering has polarized audiences with its unflinching examination of class, gender, and power dynamics, though most viewers found themselves frustrated by its execution. While some appreciate Franco's stripped-down narrative approach and Jessica Chastain's stunning wardrobe, the majority feel the film stumbles in its handling of migration themes and leaves an uncomfortable aftertaste.

It is quite a vision: mordant, satirical, brutal.

Franco provides a platform for his two leads, Jessica Chastain and Isaac Hernández, to give blisteringly intense performances. But the film would surely have benefitted from a little more nuance and delicacy.

It’s a sneaky little movie about what people are really like, and it’s impressive.
