Synopsis
A boy finds a dolphin that was injured in a trap. They become friends, but the dolphin needs to have its tail amputated to survive. With the help of a biologist and a prosthetics specialist, the boy tries to save the animal.

i watched this movie as a kid! such a sweet and inspiring film based on a true story. i loved the bond between sawyer and winter. the credits at the end get me. so heartwarming, emotional, and carries the epitome of hope and resilience. it's a perfect movie for animal lovers!

It's not a perfect film, mind you. It's too long by a quarter, and actor-turned-director Charles Martin Smith (The Untouchables) lets any sense of real structure slip away in the film's crowded third act.
