Synopsis
When a police officer and his faithful police dog get injured in the line of duty, a harebrained but life-saving surgery fuses the two of them together -- and Dog Man is born. As Dog Man learns to embrace his new identity, he must stop feline supervillain Petey the Cat from cloning himself and going on a crime spree.

Jen likedDog ManThis is a cute movie that has a great message for everyone to watch. I think it’s a great movie for the family to watch together and kids will really enjoy it. I enjoyed it as well. It made me chuckle. It made me smile and it made me tear up a little bit, so I think overall they did a great job.
Axis likedDog ManIt’s a great kids movie for sure with funny jokes and other comedy elements to keep them entertained, however for me it was a bit too fast paced and dragged on a bit at times. Nonetheless, Pretty cute movie overall and if you’re a fan of the books i’m sure you will like this one!

I loved the books, so I was happy this adaptation is accurate with good animation. Petey’s arc shines, but Dogman’s feels sidelined. Themes like abandonment get barely touched. Rushed villains and rapid-fire jokes make it feel safe and scatterbrained. Kids will enjoy it. 6.3/10

Definitely a fun time. A masterpiece, no. But an enjoyable nonsensical romp at a breakneck speed. Clever visuals. Great action packed sound design. Enough fart jokes for the kiddos with a satisfying smattering of obscure Easter eggs for the adults. Worth the ticket.

The heart of the film is the emotional triangle of Petey, Li’l Petey and Dog Man, as the two erstwhile enemies both find something like love for the kitten (voiced by Lucas Hopkins Calderon and full of disarming innocence) and something like forgiveness for each other.
