Movie Info & Cast

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder team up in a movie about ridiculously appealing people. Oh wait, no, scratch that – they actually are playing two extremely unpleasant wedding guests who are forced together at a sunny, wine-soaked destination wedding. Will they fall in love? Will they be able to tone down their natural charm long enough for us to believe that they’re the outcasts nobody likes? Will people ever stop planning inconvenient destination weddings? Anything is possible when Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder appear onscreen together!

The dialogue they deliver is crisp, witty and occasionally biting. Levin's script has the style and rhythms of the kind of romantic comedies of the '40s and '50s when actors like Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn used verbal banter like boxing gloves.

While Levin’s writing is sharp and observant, it’s also often overwrought and eventually just plain tiresome.

Slim movies like this live or die based on their personal charm, and the sour Destination Wedding soon wheezes its way into the ICU.
