Not as good as I remember (lot of mid 80s cringe/corniness) but enjoyable enough, primarily fueled by nostalgia
Idk why it took me so long to watch this classic whodunnit but I’m glad I did. It’s funnier than I went in thinking. While it often has that 80s humor that doesn’t quite age well today, the quick comebacks and one-liners are pretty funny. And Tim Curry serves cvnt, as per usual 💅

If I were alive pre-2000s, I probably would have put this in my top 100 films of all time. Some aspects age shockingly well, while others do not. The casting, acting, and dynamics, for one, were great, especially Tim Curry, proving his range yet again. The pacing starts off slightly slow but…

“Why is J. Edgar Hoover on your phone?! I don’t know! He’s on everybody else’s. Why shouldn’t he be on mine?!” “Im not going to wait for awards worth here to unmask me. I work for the state department and I’m a homosexual.” “We had friends who were socialists.” My favorite one.
i love tim curry so much :) this has such a charming sense of humor and i really like how they brought the game of clue to life especially with all the characters but i guessed it from the beginning and i didn’t really like the homophobic jokes

Lots of sight gags and one-liners are attempted, but few of them succeed. The cast is talented but stranded in weak material.
there is so little genuine wit to be found in ''Clue.'' The film does have a speedy pace, but that could hardly be confused with Mr. Hawks's madcap humor; instead, it involves a lot of running around through secret passages, and some slapstick routines involving dead bodies. The actors are meant to function as an ensemble, but that merely means that they often repeat the same line simultaneously.
