Where this film succeeds the most is in its portrayal of the horrors war. I feel that not all of the diversions from the original are for the better, especially the inclusion of the generals and diplomats, but it stays true to the original message of the film and book. 8.5/10

The original All Quiet is one of the few non-color movies I watched, and really recommend after a watch of this. The cinematography and music are perfect for both the fields and the trenches.
