Synopsis

Davey Stone, an alcoholic with a criminal record, is sentenced to community service under the supervision of an elderly referee. Davey is then faced with trying to reform and abandon his bad habits.

    A truly hilarious holiday movie with great music and animation! As the movie goes on, Davy Stone (the main character) goes through character development and stopped denying his feelings. Definitely one of my new favorite Adam Sandler movies and will now watch it every Christmas,

    This movie is one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies! It was hilarious yet touched my heart. The main character Davey Stone goes through a very big journey into character development and accepts the burden of a hard childhood. Would recommend this movie!!

    like most Sandler movies, not every joke will be the funniest thing you've ever heard. that said, you'll laugh, you'll cry, and it has a very heartfelt message underneath about being kind.

    Not a movie I would consider to become a favorite but it is pretty good and funny. I think you need to have the same humor and audience to enjoy it properly.

    Not great, not bad. Just can be annoying sometimes and the humor fails more times than it works. I quite liked the story however.

On the whole, this lively, bittersweet Columbia release works well and is sure to connect strongly with fans of Sandler at his most free-wheeling and uninhibited. Scrub off the latrine humor, and underneath there's a heart-tugging sentimental tale of uplift and redemption.

What's special about the movie is how totally it believes in itself as a musical. The tunes, co-written by Sandler and a bunch of his pals, take on rock opera and traditional Jewish folk music with boyish exuberance.
