You’re not prepared for how big the moon is during the final shootout. I guarantee you it’s the biggest moon you’ve ever seen.

Edvin KareliusApr 5, 2025best watched with your dad as he reacts to every jason statham action sequence like a 13-year-old cheering for the chicken jockey

Way too much of this is Jason Statham sitting at tables and not nearly enough of it is Jason Statham punching. Stop trying to convince me you’re a serious movie. You’re not a serious movie. Just be fun. *points though for the absurdly huge Melancholia-sized moon in the…
Patrick WillemsMar 25, 2025Two hours of Statham fighting Russian mafiosi who fail their audition for Anora.
Alysson OliveiraMar 26, 2025Mostly an agonizingly dull TAKEN knockoff, but some of you might think that's worth it for the very amusingly bonkers last 20 minutes.

A working man in a not-so-working movie. Statham is probably one of the most consistent action stars for mediocre films. They are either mediocrely good or mediocrely bad. "The Beekeeper" I'd put on the good side, unlike this, which falls to the bad. It starts off decent and somewhat grounded, then…
Why was the moon that big dawg😭😭😭 This is that action movie you go watch when you don’t want to be in a theater full of people screaming “I… Am Steve!”

Wow, I was doing well the first ten minutes, and then It's just the same slop written all over again, incoming comments about second monitor usage🤗
Another insipid Action rescue mission with enough hammy acting and cheesy dialogue to make an awesomely bad-tasting knuckle sandwich. It’s badly-paced, needlessly convoluted, strapped with plot armor, and yet I would still show up for another helping.

I couldn’t have been more uninterested. How do you go wrong with a Statham gets wronged and seeks revenge on everyone that wronged him? Well, here it is. Story tries to be too deep. Action feels boring somehow. It drags along in pacing. DNF. Go watch the Beekeeper instead.
It was exactly what you would expect from a Jason Statham action movie, like Beekeeper in a different font. But it was enjoyable if you just suspend your disbelief of yeah sure this man could definitely take that many ppl without being fatally injured.

I want to see this movie again soon!
If you enjoy Jason Statham, this doesn’t disappoint. Fortunately with actors like him and Liam Neeson, they have a “certain set of skills”, aren’t afraid to annually retread them. Doesn’t carve out any new script niches, but when you know you want steak, nothing else will do.
Metacritic
It works, in that arch-action-vehicle-built on-cliches sort of way.
David Ayer’s film proceeds as an unambiguous celebration of its hero’s vigilantism.
The beats become terribly repetitive even when the fight choreography is at times satisfying, and the R-rating at least allows for some CGI blood spurts. But in spite of the dreary tedium, there are moments of genuine levity that shine through the gloom, be they intentional or not.
