The internet has strong opinions about, well, everything in pop culture, and there is no such thing as a sense of chill when it comes to first looks and teaser trailers. Naturally. The latest thing to divide the internet is the first look at Sonic the Hedgehog in his upcoming movie. A poster dropped today and it left some fans hopeful, others scratching their heads, and everyone commenting on his very, uh, muscular physique. 110% certainty there are already people on Tumblr and redditors hard at work on Thicc Sonic memes because the internet just likes to watch itself burn.

Okay, so, his overly-muscular body might be a little disconcerting, but check out dem kicks! I’m digging the bright red sneakers and would like them to be sold in stores, thanks.

Not much is known about the movie so far aside from the fact it will revolve around a small-town cop who helps Sonic escape from the government operatives looking to capture him. Presumably to do testing on how a hedgehog managed to get so swole. He must be training at the same gym as Thanos and the robot from Lost in Space.

Ben Schwartz, otherwise known as Jean-Ralphio from Parks and Recreation and the voice of Dewey Duck in the DuckTales reboot, will be voicing the royal blue speedster. Also starring are Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Neal McDonough. Paramount has tapped Jeff Fowler to direct, and they must be very high on what he brings to the table considering he only has one short to his name in terms of directing experience. Hopefully, he has an incredible vision for the film and will give us something special.

Sonic the Hedgehog is in theaters November 8, 2019.
