With Frozen becoming a game-changing movie for Disney in 2013, it’s been a long, five-year wait for the sequel (and we’ve had the music stuck in our heads almost as long). While we’ll have to wait at least one more year until it’s in front of our eyeballs, it appears we’ll be returning to the magical land of Arendelle a little sooner than we’d hoped.

Disney announced late last week that they were bumping up the release date of Frozen 2 by a week, from November 27, 2019 to November 22nd.

The first Frozen is the highest-grossing animated movie of all time, hauling in a whopping $1.3 billion at the box office on its way to becoming a global phenomenon and cementing its two leading ladies and show-stopping songs firmly in the pop culture consciousness. We’re not sure there’s a single person who hasn’t gotten at least the chorus of “Let It Go” or “Do You Want To Build A Snowman?” stuck in their head at one point.

With almost everyone involved with the original returning, the sequel is set to be another magical ride. Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel are set to reprise their roles as Anna and Elsa, respectively, along with Josh Gad as Olaf the Snowman and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff. Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown are also attached to the movie, though no one yet knows what roles they’ll be playing. With our plucky protagonists needing a big bad to face, however, we can guess that at least one of them might step into a villainous role. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck are also returning as directors, with Lee co-writing the script with Hidden Figures and Christopher Robin writer Allison Schroeder.

Three cheers for Disney…letting…it…go…earlier than anticipated.

…I’ll see myself out now.
